the whole moving flats plan is even more thoroughly thrown back to Don't Know than I was aware of
it's not so much square one as a whole new square zero
but hey, that could work out in any direction, so one can only hope for the best.

It remains a possibility that the future could be better.
That would be nifty cool, okays?

the BBC article starts out saying

"Proposals to give more rights to people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health conditions are to be unveiled by the government."

But their little video says it's about a parent, and further down it says "families felt their concerns are ignored"

I'm pretty sure they don't even see any contradiction there.

People with autism is not the same as families of people with autism. Listening to our parents is not the same as listening to us. Giving our parents new rights would be very greatly different to giving us new rights.

The actual proposals listed seem to be about giving people more right not to be put in hospital against their will, which seems nice.

But all the rhetoric around it is about families, and listening to families.

Which creeps me out because there's an unspoken assumption about how much there is to listen to from the actual disabled people.

It also seems likely that when they say 'community support' they mean 'relatives who are either unpaid or getting paid a pittance'. Which is a whole separate level of problem that really needs sorted.

(Did you know that Carers Allowance is less than Jobseekers Allowance? Carer's Allowance is £61.35 a week, Jobseekers is up to £72.40, though people under 25 get paid less. By definition Carers do 35 hours a week of work for an amount of money the government deems in other contexts insufficient to live on. And the situation with stacking benefits is complex.)

I just get so angry, there's so much Need and so little being done to meet it.

So, there's stuff about the AI in TWS that has been bothering me for ages, and I keep expecting fic on this premis to turn up, but maybe I'm reading in the wrong places.

you ever read a fic where they seem to have a plot going on, things get rolling, they've got a reasonable grasp of English, and then they just suddenly use a word and you'd think it was a typo but you can't even figure out what of? And it's not that they got overenthusiastic with a thesaurus neither. It's just sitting there, a word which makes no sense.

It's like JARVIS and the wrong cranberry.

so now I'm trying to figure out if a particular fic is worth the mental missed steps, and if it'll make sense despite the random vocab.

I'm watching a movie and I'm finding it sort of boring. I guess it's technically martial arts, there's certainly a lot of fighting, but it's mostly a war movie so instead of person against person most shots are someone heroically flailing as spear points try to get at them or something. Or lots of little armoured figures run around threatening other figures in armour when I have not yet figured out distinctive differences. I'm sure if I was better at faces and symbols I'd be able to follow it but it's mostly a very violent mess from here.

I have spent most of this movie trying and failing to figure out what is going on, to see past the quick cuts and shaky cam and incipient motion sickness, and it's just been a lot of blood and gore and I don't see what the point is.

The end credits say killing that one dude stopped the war? That's not a very well organised military then.
and these dudes are supposed to be examples of
loyalty, filial piety, benevolence and righteousness?

I guess I can see loyalty, it's just that from where I'm standing they emphatically left out common sense, tactical sense, or anything approaching wisdom. Which seems unfortunate.

So I couldn't follow that movie and didn't like it. It might work better for someone else.

Plus I did pick a fighting movie due to being in a really foul mood, so, you know, that might influence my opinion somewhat.
