Blakes probably more than 7

For reasons known only to my subconscious I woke up from dreaming about Blakes 7. To be specific, I was trapped in a crowd about to be massacred, I spotted Vila, we called in Blake, and we were about to run away through a sliding panel in a changing room when we discovered it was newly screwed, and so were we. There was shooting, there was acquiring tools, there was finding behind the panel another sheet of plywood, and then there was saying sod this for a lark, borrowing a knife, and a rather complicated set of running away that involved messing with the lift, sliding down a lift shaft, and eventually getting where we were going once I'd torn all my clothes, got friction burns and entirely run out of breath. Cleverly saving Blake's life in the process. I'd say I joined the crew then, but that might imply deciding to follow Blake, and no. I decided to give them the benefit of my actually functioning brain.
... I haven't watched B7 for a while but my subconscious has opinions. And possibly Avon envy.

So, anyway, once I woke up I started figuring who I'd cast in my version, as you do:

Okays: Which older woman could play Blake?
Strong, able to play up the appearance of weakness, velvet and iron.

If I could decide exactly which band of older I mean I could probably have more of a go at that.

Watchmen

That was ... That was Watchmen.
I think I feel the same way about that film as I did about the comic, and that's rather impressive.
Is possible the film is better.

I was watching it assuming that all the many and varied layers of fucked up mess were there to be a nasty mess, which is kind of a different film than if you read it thinking any part of it is meant to be good. There's no good guys.
I had my hat over my eyes for some sequences I knew were going to be Very, so not a full view, but that was... yeah. They made that film.

I now need a ladder cause I put my graphic novel collection on the top shelf near the ceiling...

... no, wait, I now need to concentrate on stuff that I need to study and not get all obsessive on a sidetrack.



Also, it helps when going to films to know what times the films is on. I had an hour and a half to wait cause I guessed wrong. Was okay, we went for food. Actually we went to a nearby supermarket for food, because the Chinese food place closed at 1500 and the other places had an ongoing lack of vegetarian options that I couldn't get cheaper at Morrisons. Baked potato and beans is not something I want to pay very much at all for. So I had meat free breakfast instead. And then on the way back there was wandering around looking at shiny things. I only bought the one. 70% off.

Right. Back to the world.
