Computers!

I should just install firefox on the laptop. Really really. It's so many kinds of acting up cranky now anyway, especially since the place 'fixed' it. For instance, now when I plug in my headphones, instead of smoothly and automatically putting the sound through the headphones, it pauses several seconds, launches a program, asks if I actually plugged in headphones or some other kind of thing in a different plug, and waits for me to click the tick boxes and the confirmation box. Why so difficult? I don't even know.
So the bit that needs firefox is just the thing where Internet Explorer crashes and eats all my tabs several times a week. Which it just did. Again.
This time it asked if I wanted to restore the last session but when I said 'yes' restored as many windows as I'd had in the last session but all of them full of my home page. WTF?! Argh.

*deep breaths*

Okays, I should just send this to get fixed again again. If it's not working anyway what do I lose?

:eyeroll:

Music and YouTube

People were linking to music for the writer's block, including aeron-lanart to VNV Nation.

So I've been happily bouncing between VNV Nation and Covenant songs on YouTube remembering how much I like them and hitting ones that make that tingly feeling when the music really plugs you in.

And, wonder of wonders, I have a plot bunny that's making sense and trying to get written and stuff. It's an old fic bunny turned into an original series instead, but since it has been years since I touched the fic I meant it for, may as well. And it has new characters. It would help if the pov character introduced herself though. Right now she's Giles in tweedy drag, and it's a bit distracting.

ooh, shiny! er, music, no so much visuals

Doctor Who books with 11 and Amy

I hear there are some new Doctor Who books out today. I do not have those.
But I have finished reading
Apollo 23, Night of the Humans, and The Forgotten Army
(I was saving them up for when there were no new episodes).

Apollo 23 was quite good, I liked it when I read it and I don't remember any grumbles. It seemed to me the writer was a fan of 3. I liked a lot of the images, like rain on the moon or walking out into the desert or the guy on the cover.

Night of the Humans... Read more... )

The Forgotten Army just did not feel Proper. I have been trying to figure out why. Read more... )

So that's like 1/3 I quite liked.
:-(

Yet I will keep buying Doctor Who books, so maybe their plan works fine.

*sigh*

Oh, also? In the Forgotten Army book, there is a one line reference to events in Children of Earth. Read more... )
