But the short bits of relationship we see with her put him in entirely a nurturing relationship, make us-audience uncomfortable with the exploitative newcomer, and contrast Ianto with that. It isn't that it it's Ianto, it's that he's treating her like a very ill person, not a cyber bondage chick, so whatever he's getting out of the relationship there's no reason to think it's sexual jollies.
Feeding his need to be needed, yeah. He's in a nurturing position with her, and with the Torchwood team. He's the guy who cleans and brings the food and makes sure everyone has what they need. That character study calls him the baby, but he's also definitely the mommy. Looks after people. Feels lost with an empty nest.
