vague yaay.
don't know them, so no specific opinions, but they meet my minimum ask, for the first time, so that's nice.

so obviously improvement, but I've been asking bigger for a really long time, so can only muster vague yaay.

the more announces and reactions go on about being a brave choice, the more I feel like 'keep up in the back there'

I've only seen her in Broadchurch, but she is excellent there. I just hope the writing is good; I'm more worried about that now that the casting is settled.

I have hopes for writing I can like all season. A season with nothing to make me want to rage quit would be nifty.

I reckon chances are pretty high of fresh new and interesting.

the other feeling is a bit like that protest sign that goes 'I can't believe we're still protesting this'. Twenty years ago the idea was comedy. and it's still a fight now.

women are half the world, so women must be half the story

we should be well over having to push and resist and fight to make it happen.

My first incredibly negative thought was, they bring her, they're gonna write it shitty, then they're gonna whine 'but we gave you feminists all you want, and you still don't watch, so we're not gonna give you anything again' which...

Let's hope the writing won't let that happen? Let's hope.

yeah, my mum's first thought was like "oh well, there go the ratings"
and I don't see why, but if it don't pick up mass numbers, it'll get called a failure.

If they write the Doctor and cast a woman it'll work, but if they write a dozen guys versions of the Doctor as a woman, that's going to go poorly.

the ratings will drop for sure, because many assholes watch this show and now won't. that's not really where i worry - although it's a valid problem. I worry that they're gonna write it sexist. they're gonna write it lame. they're gonna - yes, poorly write A WOMAN rather than The Doctor. and then, shrug. people will complain, for good reasons, but they're gonna be taken for whine because assholes will be assholes...

maybe we're just being negative. maybe things can and will be better. yes.
