The word kaiju gave me weird expectations because I only know it from Pacific Rim, but this is a good one about the Wild magic rising all over the world, in locally appropriate forms. And the Wild surely does have its reasons.





There are always more fics in more fandoms, and most authors I follow this year wrote for source I don't know, but I think I've read the ones I recognise now and these were good.

I shall be fascinated to read the Chanur story; didn't know anyone had ever written any in that 'verse. Maybe I should go looking for Merchanter fic to read; maybe even think again about writing CJ Cherryh fanfic - so much of the fandom I'm aware of follows stories I'm not as engaged with, so I kinda put the thoughts aside.
