Torchwood: Suckers
This was an audio that very effectively told the creeptastic story it set out to
and I have deleted it off my phone already.
It starts with extra and more specific warnings about the content, and it is right to do so.
I want to be sure I carefully consider my mood before listening again.
It's about very bad things happening on a psychiatric ward
and Toshiko, very early in working for Torchwood, doubts herself to the point where she comes to believe she just went mad in solitary confinement in prison, and Torchwood is her delusion.
Very uncomfortable listening.
And nobody comes out of it a hero.
It's pretty clear on who the monsters are, and it is not the patients.
It's disturbing stuff about systemic racism in mental health care
with suckers.
So, on the whole, I don't think I'll be relistening for fun,
even if I did appreciate the ending Toshiko arranged.
Can't tell you if it's good, can tell you to mind the warnings and think carefully about if you want to go there.
