Should have known it was going too well.
This morning I had a schedule, I'd checked where the rooms were, and I was all set up to attend Wednesdays and Fridays and finish up my first year credits.
This afternoon I'm back to having to do first year credits next year too.
Bugger.

Arrived very early. That was neat. Before it took an hour in the car and there was lateness. Now there's only me in the car and it took about half an hour. I got there so early the library wasn't open yet. Win!
Found classroom, got seat, set up computer, said hi to people from last year (part time students and a resit student) and waited for the teacher.
and waited. and waited.
he turned up at 0930 feeling very embarrassed cause he'd thought it was a 10am class.
But no worries, there was lesson then. I felt all organised and with knowledge, for I knew how to find the stuff on Blackboard that he showed us. And then I felt dumb cause I couldn't figure out how to post. ( +thread. who uses +thread?)
And we watched a documentary from 1936 and then class was over and I did not be an idiot.
I stuttered and my attempt to write on the board looks kinda like I used my feet, and when I introduced myself everyone laughed, but the laughing was intended so that works out :-)
(He asked what we want to do after we get the degree. I said write for Doctor Who. Perfectly reasonable career aspiration there ;-) )
There's hardly any people in this class, phew! So I can talk much better. And I know people already. And they sit next to me so they can read off my notes because I type fast and keep up with what teach is saying mostly.

So, then there was finding out about next lesson. From other students we'd heard KidLit was pushed back to second semester. From our tutor we had not heard. So we went to find the tutor in their office. Only when we got there the office was a classroom and the noticeboard was for Sociology now.

They has a nice Blackboard system can put up announcements for all to read. They couldn't have mentioned that?

So, other part time student went home, and I went on a hunt. I scour emails that I'd discarded as not-for-me, and find where new office is. I bump into some students from last year and they tell me where noticeboard is, and also that we have new tutors. I find new timetable on noticeboard.

This semester: 20 credits, over 2 days.
Next semester: 40 credits, over 4 days.
I can only do 2 days. I had a nice timetable said doing 2 days would work. I liked that timetable. Now it doesn't work after all.

Found office. Found who my tutor is. Found that if I was second year my tutor would be the teacher that is actually teaching the only classes I can actually attend this year. Sorta useful. Found that actually no my only option for this year is to drop 20 credits so I'm back to 2 days next semester.

So I will have to come back and do them next year.

And as was noted, I have no particular timetable, no urgent need to graduate or anything. Even best case I'd be here another 5 years. No worries! Right?

Only... I hate bumping into my limitations. And call me whiny, but when I signed up for this course full time was only going to be 3 days a week. When did that change? And my schedule worked this morning! And yeah, okay, they say they can't run a degree course as can be attended 2 days a week. Especially since they only have the 4 teachers. And I get that, I do, but... last year it worked. Up until this morning my schedule said it worked. So now I'm feeling very frustrated, because of a sudden it doesn't work.

That means more time for reading. But... *sigh*
*and whine*
*and maybe growl a little*

On the plus side
and it's very plus
I was all organised and on time, and then I got myself home on the bus

yes, I went on the bus like a grown up
yaay me!

Also on the way home I went to the mall (which is real easy cause you just go left at the crossing instead of right for the bus)
I got new socks! They have rainbow stripes and a smiley face! Win!
And also rainbow stripe long fingerless gloves. Look warm. Don't know if those will work out, but worth a try.
And then I stopped in Borders and picked up the latest Terry Pratchett.
Student discount doesn't start until 10th of next month, but it was under £10 anyway.

So, a day of mixed fortunes, but with shiny bits.

Now I'm going back to bed. With a new book.
