Oct. 17th, 2007 09:08 pmI had a sleep :-)
Life is better with sufficient sleep.
... apparently about six hours of it? Huh. Needed that.
I keep getting the urge to take the assignment question and apply it to Doctor Who. I could get a great essay out of it. It's about representation of the working class. I could just use the first new series episode and still get an essay easy.
I could not, however, get marks such as would let me pass this course. Sulk.
... have to choose a text we actually studied.
I had an essay all lined up in my head about the advertisements we've already been studying. I even had quotes from a bunch of books to go with it. But that essay would be about women, and while some of them are certainly working class I don't know if it answers the question enough. I have however got enough quotes already to throw together a rough essay outline, and I find them quite interesting, so I could probably do that and then ask teach if it would count.
Or, I could be sensibly lazy and start in on the actual I know I'll pass if I do this section.
... black and white documentaries about the working class just don't catch my attention. I mean one of them only had women for about five seconds serving the tea. Blah.
Also there's no disabled people around. Which considering there were wars just seems odd. I'm sure there were bunches of people. Just not in films. Or advertising.
Makes me want to go back and dig until I find them. stupid, making people invisible.
Heh, formica ads for disabled people - new, shiny, durable, much easier to clean! Do it with one hand behind your back... or left behind in a foreign country, either way works!
... I'm easily amused.
... sorry.
... if the one with the refrigerator had the woman in the swish dress be wheeled up by her kids instead of pulled then the thing where it's too tall to reach the top shelf would be immediately obvious. And they'd have a new angle to sell the little diddy ones. Except I guess the bottom shelf is also a problem. Hmmm.
... I'm also easily distracted *facepalm*
This is why I need the inspirations software. Not so I gets more inspiration, just so I can keep them under control. Close that branch, doesn't answer the question!
