This one is about...
Apr. 2nd, 2004 12:13 am... why that phrase should never be how you kick off a story. If you need to tell people what the story is about, you aren't telling the story right. This has been bugging me since re-reading the last few JLAs, where they started every issue like that. It was nice to have stories with a theme, it wasnt nice to be preached at about what that theme was.
Trouble is I have a nice neat summary and teaser about what my big huge series is about, but I know from that rule I cannot phrase it that way. It has big themes and things it is about and layers and levels and stuff, but if they dont all add up and explain themselves via the plot and characters it dont matter. So I'll have to do the actual writing instead. huh.
