... and yeah, she might have just been dead, but they did stop him before the needle went in, yesno? Probably? So then they'd have a ticking mayfly bomb stuck in an isolation ward somewhere. Or possibly quarantine at Torchwood. Or in a freezer drawer / cryo chamber. But Gwen and Ianto didn't really rescue, because of the Reset still being in there.
