warriors of the deep

still powerful
but the story works rather better if you haven't seen the other two, I think, cause then you've just got the Doctor's characterisation of the situation and instead of persistent aggressors you have people at the end of their rope.
The Doctor was a bit odd in this one. At one point he had a gun. What's with that?
Also? I have zero social skills, I been told. And yet even I can figure out that setting someone's reactor on overload is never going to be as worky as an introduction as the standard 'hi, how are you?'
:eyeroll:
I keep forgetting how much I like Turlough. He's fun. And his habit of fondling anything long and hard like steel poles and gun barrels is just... somewhat distracting.
Tegan's outfit though... I'm glad I can successfully repress that memory between watchings.
It's all set in the near-for-DW future. Interesting contrast - Jack says everything changes, this one says nothing important changes, still sitting there waiting for the other guy to go boom. That and the clunky switches reminds that SF isn't so much about the future as the makers now; as it should be.

cause he talks big about sensible running away, but then, not so much.
and he has character arc and stuff
and he's just different from, well, everyone.
