Ribena is blackcurrant cordial. Depending on dilution it is either a really dark purple through to a pretty pinky purple, with lots of wine colors in between. Ribena is used as the generic term, like hoovers, because apparently Ribena uses up almost all the blackcurrants in the country. They say so on their advertising.
I think the guy's trauma was all the wilderness years of decline, fan mockery, and cancellation.
Except it then comes out in a sort of "American women!!!" rant, which is weird.

Oh, just realised why he's grrr about DW and ST fans being mixed together - that's what Jenkins and Tulloch did, published a book together. Last chapter was on queer theory and it focused entirely on ST. Which made me pouty cause ST tried to keep Teh Gay out whereas DW had queer directors etc from the start and a whole different attitude, which is way worth studying.
