ficathon question

if you have a story idea that fits a ficathon request, but is technically part of a larger story that you were in theory writing anyway, is it like cheating to write it?

is probably preferable to the huge great empty blank page thing I otherwise have going on
and it is fairly complete in itself - incident started and resolved.
is just also part of a much longer arc that I've been working on already.
