beccaelizabeth conquers universe!
Jul. 17th, 2008 12:15 amOr, roughly translated: I talked for two, two and a half hours, with words out loud, and taking turns, and listening, and having actual conversation. And very very little stuttering. And while disagreeing with pretty much everything the others said it was in an interesting fan discussion way where they were all yaay running down corridors and I was all yaay plots that move and we could see each others point. And I now know the venue, and we nearly got run over by the 26 bus on the way out so presumably that stops nearby, and I know where to get that, so I could get there. And I think I'll go to the next one too, where they're talking about building spaceships. Oh, unless I'm at Hamlet that week. Hmmm, might be... yeah, am. Rats. And I said I'd go. I guess I'll email and say elsewise.
... Hamlet is going to be very good to go to. Is just inconvenient that things are on Wednesdays all at once.
They're looking for more people cause a lot of people moved away. So there's apparently two or three of them that turn up a lot. Which isn't many. But was a good conversation today.
Also, is all guys. Fan shaped guys. Who thought Daleks vs Cybermen was what all fans were looking for, and don't so much get fanfic. So pretty much the message board people on boards I don't go to, except these aren't computer using people so much. No LJ or facebook or anything. And the website is a bit out of date, and there's an old version that can't even be deleted cause it can't be accessed. Which may explain some of the lack of people going, cause everyone's online.
I should do fangirl meetup on the other wednesdays. Can surely find two in Norwich.
On the way home I discovered that the local Tesco is indeed open 24 hours, and if you go around midnight the staff to customer ratio is massively in your favour, but they're refilling shelves so its a bit difficult to navigate.
I shall shop online mostly, but is good to know there's options, even if I can't figure out how to get up there cause it's more off the motorway than anywhere walkable.
So, anyway, great evening. With talking. Which I am sure I shall shortly conclude I sounded stupid in, but I said a bunch of stuff that seemed to make sense at the time, so call it a win.
