ready! I hope...

beccaelizabethOkay, so this time I'm really, truly, definitely packed.
Suitcase is full. So anything else that needs carrying must go in the pockets. Which, since I'll be in the army surplus gear, are plentiful. In suitcase there are three major outfits, some surplus pretty bits, sufficient underwear plus some, warm thing, other warm thing, thing for leaving on chairs, other thing for leaving on chairs, thing for carrying large amounts of drink concealed, foam disc weapon, jedi lightsaber (lame, but makes the noises), assorted shiny things, makeup sufficient for two completely different faces, glitter, body jewels, temp tattoos, and whatever else seemed important while I was packing. Oh, and shoes. And the other shoes. And my folder full of Stargate photos, tho it isn't very full because I've only been to two cons and didn't get anything at one of them. And some blank paper. And a pen. And the empty thingy for carrying my con badge in. And, well, stuff.
In my backpack there is food. Sufficient for a weekend, certainly. Possibly enough for a whole week. For a family of five. Or a small army.
It might be more sensible to unpack some of that.
But then I'll run out.
So on Friday I have to get up, get dressed, stuff the alarm clock in a pocket, put the mouthwash in a different pocket, put the money in yet another pocket, and the other money round my neck, and then I'm ready to go.
*determinedly not thinking about the 'travel' parts of the day. I can do those. As long as I don't think about them.*
Today I have watched SG1 eps 8-11 thru 8-17
am trying to download 8-18 and 8-19 but they project to be here in about 24 hours. By which point I'll be almost into the meet n greet party.
SG9 schedule :)
My first reaction to the end of 8-17 is 'ahhhhh! nooooooo!' But then I did some math and... less ahhhhh.
Still want to see the rest of the eps tho.
Now I can either start on Atlantis, watch the last two BSG (and I'll be seeing him that plays Apollo on the Sunday, so BSG is relevant) or I could go do that sleep thing I've been wanting since I woked up.
Seeing as I'm planning on both staying up past the end of the parties and getting up on time for breakfast, thus allowing myself about four hours a night for sleep, methinks the sleep thing is actually a good idea.
Really, really not thinking about how I won't have time to read No Limits or Of Old Mystics before next Tuesday. And technically not even then, because by then I'll have one day left to revise for my Cultural Studies assignment.
Not thinking about it because if I do it starts looking reasonable to take my laptop to London. And no. That is not the good idea. Even if it is insured. And I can back everything up onto here. And I've taken the bag which now contains the computer with me to many many conventions now. Is still not a good idea.
Primarily because if I take said laptop I'll spend valuable convention time in my room reading fic. Which would be silly. Even if I do retreat to my room regularly. Is in order to destress and catch extra sleep, not for fic. Would be giving inadequate attention to both con and fic.
