... they could really do with some more members. It was two blokes in a pub basement, and me and my employee.
The pub was Very Very Full, because some sports thing was happening. And the screens is all above the door or next to it or whatever. So I walk in the front door and there's PEOPLE all Staring at... well, not me, but it were not the most fun thing ever. But I just went scuse me scuse me through the crowd trying very hard not to spill anyone's drink. The basement was booked, so it was empty, so that was good. I was first one there. I explored the balcony outside, which turns out to be quite long, and has other exit at one end maybe, though I don't know where the door goes. But it was cold and dark so I went back in and read a book a bit.
Helper person couldn't find a parking space, probly due to pub sports screen thing. To get back to the place she eventually parked was ten minutes. Also there was a bit that had no street lights. This to me is Not Good. But I has torch for exactly this situation. I think maybe I get bigger torch.
The talking parts were good. I think. I argue quite a lot. If that's not what they're meant to be doing, is not so much good. But I has fun.
They had a definition of slash that included 'all the dodgy stuff' and self-insert fic and Mary Sues and all adult fic and they were quite adamant it meant Het as well. But there is Het and there is Slash and this has been true for long and long. I said where I got my definitions from, they just said their definitions were true. Where are they true? Not everywhere, cause the everywhere I've been has different definitions. So that was a bit of an argue.
Talked about superhero films. Well, orbited around talking about superhero films. They read Marvel, I read DC. Figures.
Tomorrow there is Dr Who and Cult TV group in a different basement pub.
I has 3D social life. It's kind of like LJ, but with less people and more blokes and more pubs. Where I drink lemonade and they don't.
I think people are more interesting the less beer they've had. As a general rule.
Maybe there's a coffee and SF group somewhere...

Weird, I think I've had the "is it still slash when it's canon" discussion, but never the "all fanfic with sex is slash" one. Maybe if you tell them your male lit. professor said it is so helps? No, I'm perfectly convinced that with some men all the time and all men some of the time nothing</i< a woman says matters. Still sounds like you have fun with this strange 3D socila life you speak off though. ;o)
