why not just write '18' like Brit ratings?
U for universal, PG for parental guidance, I can see those being some kind of trademark. But 12, 15 and 18 are just numbers, and easy to understand. Also expandable. 13, 14, 21, 60+ if surrounded by ice cubes - whatever seems fitting.
I half see why is a Thing in the first place - ratings are given out by the ratings board, usually after much argument - but just writing an age on it seems to un Thing it quite effectively.
