New keyboard, yaays
Feb. 17th, 2009 02:55 pmWell, moderate yaays. I can now type on my main computer. Win. But the keys will as usual take time to get used to. They don't clack. Except for when they do. And I think I'm banging them harder than strictly necessary. Also the backspace is about half the size I'm used to so, for instance, I end up si#with ... okay. Yes. Like that.
Also it has keys on it that look like power button and little moon and a sunset. I wonder what happens when I press those? And is it anything I want to happen by accident?
Right. Anyway. Shall practice.
Computer shop is looking into finding me a keyboard like my old one. Microsoft's ergonomic keyboard has mutated into a strange and unergonomic life form, as per usual. So it will take some looking.
Also I asked after monitors that can be turned around sideways so I can see whole A4 pages at once.
... I'm going to spend a bunch of money on it, I can specify silly things if I wants.
So they'll look into that.
I saw the kind of monitors they supply as standard now. 22inch widescreen with built in webcam??? *blinky*
I also saw a tiny little laptop looking thing, would fit in a pocket, for £250. But since I'd only want it for con weekends and I have several devices available for that purpose already and since many hotels have computers I could hire for an hour for considerable less than £250 even for the weekend then really I shouldn't.
... I'm going to keep thinking about it, I can just tell.
... I could take it to the pub. Would I want to drop a pint on £250? Maybe £100. That's only 4 taxi trips to said pub. And then I could look things up while at the pub.
... yes this is the extent of my social ambitions.
ANYway
Keyboard!
of ongoing typos!
*sigh*
