I've been reading people getting a Dreamwidth account and deciding to xpost, and several have said something like "You can xpost from Dreamwidth to LJ, but I don't know how to post from LJ to Dreamwidth... hmmm, maybe I'll just stay on LJ"
er, why?
Because, the xposting thing, that means that wherever you post from it goes to both places, right? So what's the difference xposting from Dreamwidth or from LJ, since it goes to both?

Not that I have yet either imported my LJ or learned how to xpost, because staying away while there's beta, but.
am I missing something?

I don't like the look of Dreamwidth, and I'm happier logging into LJ and checking my friends page while I type up and crosspost to whichever comm my fic needs to go to. It saddens me that that post won't immediately appear over on Dreamwidth without me having to log in there as well.

That's my difference, anyway. Hope that makes sense. (:

aha. this logging in concept implies the possibility of logging out. I don't think I do that much.

That makes sense. (: I always do. Even if I didn't I'd be happier just coming to LJ to sort everything out rather than to Dreamwidth. I don't like change. ;)

Well, people who don't want to use Dreamwidth's crossposter and still want to crosspost can always use Semagic (or any other crossposter clients) like before.
While I like DW (even when still in beta) I understand that a lot of people won't, but harping on irrelevant things like you mentioned - um, IMO, a bit silly.
