For the amount of pure complication at this point, I think writing the book of the show first would be a better idea, then adapt the novel for a television series.
Kind of like when writing a musical, you end up writing the "book" - the plot and the dioluge - first, then go about putting in songs and choregraphy, and everything that makes a musical not a play.
