I did thinking about them angels
May. 1st, 2010 09:38 pmI think I saw a hole. I'm not sure cause I haven't watched Blink recently. But the Angels turn to stone in the sight of any living creature, right? Including each other. That's why they're the lonely assassins, because they're isolated from each other. That's how the 4 angels at the end of Blink get trapped, right? Looking at each other? And that's why the Angel covers its own face?
So how did the Angels around Amy move when so many of them had their eyes open? They could move in the dark, but then we'd still never see them. If we can see them with the lights on they can see each other with the lights on. So they should be turned to stone and unable to move. Quantum lock. Not voluntary at all.
Then I thought, how do they move around when there's lots of them together? They'd have to move with their eyes closed.
... they don't leave Amy alone because she's fooled them into thinking she can see them, she's fooled them into thinking she's *becoming* them... and it's not much of a fool cause it nearly happened.
But that can only be true if the Doctor was telling her things that weren't true.
And we the audience still shouldn't be able to see the Angels move because with the lights on they can see each other.
If it were Officially Dark and we were seeing them in the dark somehow then this wouldn't be a Thing but we were seeing light and dark samelike the people in it were seeing. So they should see each other. And be trapped in stone.
I kind of wish I hadn't noticed that.
I quite like the idea of making her scared so she keeps her eyes open and then they can climb in and then she has to keep her eyes closed even though that makes everything scarier. That's a good scare.
So, wait, is their ultimate goal the climb in thing and they're always just faking about the turn to stone bit? That, er, wouldn't make sense at all. Okay. It's not that.
I think I found a plot hole.

boo for plot holes. it was too fun for finding holes.
