bad Ethan characterisation
Dec. 26th, 2004 10:23 pmthings that make me go 'gyah!!!' - having Ethan turn up all 'no, Chaos was bad for me, I've given it up, no this isn't just about getting you into bed for I am Noble and Pure and Redeemed now!'
er, not that I've read it in so many words
but Chaos worship is not evil so even if you are redeeming Ethan you don't have to get rid of the chaos. And it does tend to fundamentally alter ones perceptions of reality anyway, so it is difficult to 'give up' because it is like deciding not to see the truth.
Now deciding that 'chaos' does not necessarily involve wholesale transformation spells, that there is plenty of room for. But the whole 'eeew, chaos icky!'.... gyah!
This is not, actually, me getting at Of Old Mystics. At all. They have done something complicated with Pattern and Chaos, not just had him out of the blue dumping all that chaos stuff.

and I have a story in the works that kind of involves that.
