B5 Crusade
Mar. 20th, 2006 11:58 pmToday I watched all of the Babylon 5 spin off Crusade
Wish I'd looked up the Wiki first, says a different episode order than the one I watched, and no doubt it would have made more sense. annoyance.
but biggest annoyance - 13 episodes! Only! And no more episodes ever!
but... but... they can't just leave it like that! Earth still doomed!!! Wah!
So, I, er, have cancellation trauma... a teensy bit late, granted, but still, shock and trauma. *does woeful goth hand-to-forehead*
I liked it. I liked the characters, the mix, the setup, the range of things they could do with it. It felt a bit choppy, but having found I just watched it in the wrong order makes that make sense. It also felt like it kept hitting stride then falling off again, which again, if they were out of order, makes sense.
Having a technomage and a thieves guild representative on board gave it an interesting feel - kind of D&D in space. Only, not bad like that description sounds. The Technomage has interesting background revealed, and moral issues, and all kinds of fun still waiting. And then having a telepath on board as first officer, but putting so many restrictions on him... it was all interesting stuff.
But then it didn't happen.
What is up with TV? Why so many shows getting squished?
I actually started out deciding to watch Babylon 5. But then I saw so many episodes waiting all in a row and... went for something more bite sized instead.
Has made me realise how much of B5 I just don't have memorised. I mean its entirley possible there are episodes I haven't seen. Is daft. I have the DVDs, I must soon sit down and watch through them in order.
Except then I'll end up all fannish again. And its all run out and is former and previous. Sad.
Anyway, that was my entire day. Sat down to watch one episode with lunch, ended up watching 13. And now is nearly midnight.
:eyeroll:
is a good thing I don't have anything like, say, homework and essays to do. or laundry. or all that other RL stuff that obviously was less urgent.
:eyeroll again a lot:
I liked Crusade. I even liked the official het romance. Two Captains, both the boss in their own bit of the world, all similar and all stubborn and all... just fun to watch.
But there were lots of other characters to play unofficial pairings with too.
Should have been fun.
*sigh*
