Apr. 1st, 2006 10:51 amwoke up this morning very cranky.
because Methos had bought us (me and him and Richie) a home on holy ground, all ready to move into.
and it was a Christian church.
Tiny, and not Catholic or CofE or anything mainstream, but definitely Christian. And still in use. When we turned up the wake for the last minister was still on.
And he was all *tada, you can move right in!* and I was all... somewhere between grrr and facepalm. For I am pagan, and he was either asking me to change the use of the place, which would mean deconsecrating it as Christian and starting over as a pagan place, or asking me to be Christian, which, really, *no*.
And then one of the departing parishoners cut through one of the roof support beams. Possibly so us pagans wouldn't get the place. And all was a big mess of emergency builders and not even knowing the name of the village let alone the church.
So I was cranky.
I should probably stop being cranky now, on account of it being a *dream* and *made up*.
But... he bought a whole place without asking us!
Did not ask my requirements.
When I started listing them, pointed out the great features of the newly bought place. Which to me weren't quite right.

On the other hand, there was also three way kissing with me and Richie and Methos. Which was *very* good.
Richie had some kind of Horrible Trauma, poor woobie. The dream did not specify what. Possibly it was related to lack-of-Mac. Most of the canon Horrible Trauma in Richie's life is Mac related :eyeroll:. But we were taking Richie away somewhere safe to recuperate.
So all the time I was being cranky I was also being guilty, because messing up the calm. But Methos hadn't *asked*, and I was cranky.
I'd quite like a home with a temple attached. I'm not exactly part of a pagan community, but I could be, that could be fun. My plans are usually larger than my current flat, but actually the cosy small front room size place would work plenty well. And if I was still in a hide the religion phase then it would work better than the grand plan. I usually like multitasking ritual equipment, because more efficient, but I can see a case for keeping it all seperate and dedicated. Just because a pen makes a good wand doesn't mean I'd want everyone to give up their shiny wands.
But a nice cosy room with a fire and a garden would be a good start.
The air side could be a balcony. If it was one of those places that were higher on one side than the other. Or it could be somewhere with a good view. Or, I guess, an empty street is indeed full of air, just very urban air. With car fumes. Car exhaust is not my idea of the ritual essence of air.
The water side could be a problem, but I've seen in many places indoor fountains that could be very watery in small space. That would work great. Or there could be a fishtank, to be more covert. With fish in it. Living symbols, like the garden. Very powerful.
If I was going to make a temple in the living room, why have a church hall bit?
... I think too much.
*sigh*
