Headlines that gave me brief 'wah!'

*Not* Torchwood.
Torchwood is still going to happen.
There is no bad about Torchwood.
What got cancelled was a spin-off about Rose.
Which, you know, my first reaction is 'phew'
BUT
the reason Davies gives is... grrr arrrgh:
"It spoils Doctor Who if we can see Rose... if we see as a concrete fact that her life continues to be as exciting without the Doctor,"
The *hell*?!
If I ever needed one line to tell me he's writing a different show than I'm watching...
The actual *point* that *should* have happened is that Rose grew up and did the cool stuff on her own.
The point is *not* that the Doctor is the coolest most excitingest dude in the universe, its actually more like that the universe is a very dangerous place and you, yes you, all of the viewers out there, can join in with making it better. That's the point of companions. Not that the Doctor is the only exciting bit. That companions can *be like him*.
