Apr. 17th, 2007 09:12 amSo far today: Woke up at 0600, decided that was WTF o'clock, went back to bed, did something resembling sleeping only with more twitching awake at every noise.
Dreamed I was at a Stargate convention with like 100 attendees total, in a hotel that was kind of a hybrid of the Thistle and the Paragon so it had all the most awkward stairs ever. There were 4 Stargate guests, but three of them were the kind you never see on screen, writers and stuff. And there was Teryl. Because we all know there will always be Teryl. This time she had her hair dyed black, which was a weird look on her, but she was climbing all over the place as per usual. So it was the Friday night and they'd just about finished with the shortest autograph queue ever, so one of the behind the scenes guys was like "fuck it, I'll show you the movie" and everyone was like screaming with squee, because "the movie" wasn't even technically finished yet and we'd be the first people in the world to see it. Also we had the people finishing it right there so if we hated any bits we could boo loudly with the knowledge the feedback would get right to the people that could use it.
So that was kind of cool.
Now I get up, start to get dressed, pull on my pants, and all the stitching came out. I have pants in one hand and thread in the other. That's just flattering.
Could be worse. Could have happened at any other point in the day.
A cool convention would have writers from a couple of different shows - say Buffy&Angel and DW&TW - and we'd sit them down somewhere and... er, make them write stuff? Do workshops. Throw ideas around. Have them do talks about why TV is not like fanfic. Possibly not pay them to read our fanfic, cause that would be weird, but reading our spec scripts would be perfectly normal... and a workshop on how to turn fanfic into scripts would have obvious useful... and then they'd totally rip our fic to pieces as TV, so that would probably be no fun.
It could be like a college thing. Get rooms at the university, get teacher types to figure how it fits in with their course.
... not so much intro level courses though. which is what I'm doing now.
Also, I can't organise it. On account of my helpful people are meant to lock me up if I try that again.
... I wonder if paying someone to organise it would count ...
I'm sort of bored and avoidy. College in a few hours. I don't wanna.
Right, off to find pants with less pieces...
