Sep. 8th, 2007 02:22 amSo I had a bunch of days in a row of actually sleeping - and feeling immensely better about the universe - and now I'm having a day where I seem to be On Duty and have to patrol every hour or so.
It's not helpful.
It's because earlier there was all the screaming from the fair and also a smoke alarm I think - I got as far as getting dressed and going in the hall to try and locate the persistent beeping, but then it went away. It wasn't from my flat, there wasn't smoke where I could see, and nobody ran out screaming, so call it good. Just... now I'm not sleeping.
And it's not like being scared or paranoid or anything, just this feeling I need to get up and check things quite often.
What I need is a team so someone else can be on duty and I can sleep.
If I could pick a team I probably wouldn't pick the Doctor because he's mad and manic and would go whooosh and you wouldn't quite know if he'd be there when you woke up. But on the other hand he quite possibly doesn't sleep anyway, which makes the staying awake to watch part quite a lot easier. But Jack maybe doesn't sleep neither, and he'd Get It about being on watch and definitely wouldn't whooosh when you weren't looking. And he could be the boss and you wouldn't have to worry about which planet you'd be liberating this week and you probably wouldn't have to invest in the recorder with the really big hard drive just in case the driver missed a year again.
Ianto would be good on a team too. He'd be quiet and steady and do his job. Sure, the girlfriend situation was a bit of a problem, but once you'd got that kind of loyalty for your very own he'd be golden.
Owen would not. I wouldn't sleep around Owen. No.
Ezri Dax, because any team with me in needs a psychiatrist. And she can be a whole team of her own. And she could bring Julian because double the cute and a medic we can trust and with the extra smarts and stuff.
Martha Jones would be good too. Probably can't have too many doctors. And she'd be the down to earth sensible one while he could be a bit high strung and theoretical. She'd be used to that.
Methos may or may not make a good team mate. You'd have to be *really sure* who's team he was in fact on. But he'd be bloody cool just on general principles so I'd risk it.
... I think I go try sleep now. With all of them. Be much better.
