Odd and the Frost Giants

Now I want to write Neil Gaiman some feedback, for it was very good and had exactly the right ending.
Actually I did write some feedback, but I've decided to maybe not hit send until I'm no longer so worn out I'm almost crying. I mean, being that wiped out by the day is part of why it was the right book for the day, but I think I'll be more coherent later.
I like stories where people with disabilities get to save the world a lot.
Sometimes it seems like the only story about people with disabilities is how to fix them, and that's not a very useful story, thankyouverymuch.
This one was about someone who starts out with a disability but isn't defined by it, gets bigger and stronger and a bit more able, but at the end is still walking with a stick and hasn't had it waved away, just learns things and has a better idea for what to do next and therefore a more fun life. That's a much better story. *nods*
Also? It's not about disability, it's just a guy with a disability. Also a much better story.
It's a story about Asgard, and Odin, so there's a god with a disability too. Actually a couple, it mentions the god with one hand too. They're cool, but sometimes it's like, okay, one eye, or one hand, but... still gods. At a certain points cost then it's not massively making a dent, you know? But still, kind of nifty in the role models department. And it's still making a difference to them, so... *thinky*
There's also a bit where they're trapped in forms that aren't their own, and it gets more difficult to think like gods the longer they're stuck like that. And I keep on kind of turning that around and comparing it and they kind of go together but in different ways. Part of the point is how they're different.
Outside is very wet and windy and I'm wondering if I should shut the computer down in case the power goes wonky. I have a download at 75% and isn't on the version that can pause and resume. I guess I'll stay on for a bit.
