Today: 7th Doctor

Right then: Signing!
Will be spending significant of today standing in a line outside the shop opposite the Forum.
Will be wearing rainbow hat.
*checks weather*
and, if the BBC site is right, carrying big rainbow umbrella.
Yahoo, as ever, is more optimistic. :eyeroll:
I have packed things to get signed, and decided what I want to buy and what I want to buy if that thing isn't there, and I am all dressed except for shoes, which are next.

Right now it is very sunshiney, but there's also some spectacularly dark clouds.

... my helper person has emailed twice. Once at 0815 to say she'd be here at 0915, and once at 0916 to revise that to 0930. :eyeroll: again.
mind you, I did forget it is fill in the forms week again, so, oops.

I got there nice and early to be at the front of the line. Enough people got there earlier the line was already out of the shop. And then he was a bit late.

also, it was cold.

but not raining. so that's nice then.

So, anyway, was standing an hour in the line after the signing was meant to start. I did some talking. Not much, but any is win.

First the Daleks arrived. Three of them today - an all black, a black and silver, and a white and gold. Chasing of small people then commenced.

Then Sylvester McCoy arrived :D
He had to get out the car past the Dalek invasion. He fought them off with his umbrella. :D :D

After that there was quite a lot more standing in line, while trying to not freeze my feet off, and surrounded by small people. Surprisingly it was of fun. It's nice to know I'm not the only one geeky enough to do this. And the daleks and cyberman were wandering around ambushing people and saying they eat children, which clearly is good clean fun.

I bought a TARDIS key. The pewter ones. Happy now. I, er, may have been persuading myself not to buy one for a few years now. But hey, shiny! I had decided to buy the books, which I'll be buying anyway, but they were behind the q and also I have money off at Borders. I mean I like the shop with the signings, but 20% is 20%, you know? Also as it turned out they're on buy one get one half price, which is even better. So. ANYway. I have a shiny.

And I'll be going back next week to get another sonic screwdriver torch, since I could not find mine on Friday. And they are cool.

So then I got the Ghost Light DVD cover signed :)
And also the bits of paper for the UEA Dr Who course :D
He seemed surprised and interested that such a thing existed.
It is pretty cool.
So now it says 'Good Luck' from No. 7 on the top :D
... there's something in the learning outcomes about being able to tell audience from fans. I suspect 'finding that cool' would be in the definition somewhere...

So then we were through the line and I was in bouncy happy mood. So one quick trip across the way to the bookshop (vouchers about to run out, must buy books now! Er, my book budget is... well, it's clearly therapeutic cause it gets me out the house to go pick them up in person. Yup.) And then home again before I got too worn out to still find it all fun.

Happy now :D

Doctor Who

ooooooooh, shiny.

I admit, I was a little bit dubious about the humour to start with, but then plot kicked in and... oh *yes*, now *that* is a Doctor Who story.

I wanna watch it *again*.

That's, like, chewy and philosophical and *gorgeous*.

Including the shallow stuff. Like the set, and the clothes. And the Doctor. And possibly sometimes Donna. Huh. Neat.

And the red dresses and face paint and hands paint bit, that's a nice copyable costume such as I'm quite likely to copy. Yaay.


PS Subtitles? Bit screwed, I think. Huh, has writers blog around here somewhere, could ask...
