Achieved: College for this week
To do: reading for next week. Which is a bit of a problem since I expect to be partying from here to there.
Luckily I realised I can't go on the bus cause I'll get sick, like I did on the way home today, so I have to take the train even if it takes halfway to forever cause of strikes. I can read on the train. I have packed the reading. Wait, half the reading... Okay, I have now packed the reading.

If you see a girl standing in the qs desperately trying to read up on Astrophel and Stella, that would be me. I had checked this wasn't the exam week. I had not realised that with a week to go before the exam it wouldn't feel halfway long enough.

Achieved: packed my backpack for the weekend.
Had to do that after I got home today cause of being full of college up until then.

To do: add 2 bottles of lucozade for the road

Bags packed, including reading, hotel reservation, convention booking letter, and folder full of last year's photos.
Slight redistribution needed, shall put raincoat in handbag instead, but basically done.

To do: Add mouthwash.

Achieved: phoned helper person to book them to go to NSFG at the Ribs of Beef tonight.
If I'd confirmed there was a NSFG meeting tonight that might work better, but I didn't email and I can't remember where I put the address anyway.
ETA: Aha! Email in my inbox. Is tonight! Is good. Less fun just going to a pub with no people.
To do: SLEEP a bit before then.

To do tomorrow: Get up, get dressed in carefully pre chosen clothes, pack alarm clock, pack recharged MP3 player, catch bus to Norwich after 0830 to save money, catch trains to ... where's the Hub at again? Northampton. Right.

... I'm exhausted already. Why did I think this was a good idea???

NSFG

Norwich Science Fiction group meeting
started off with three people in pub basement
Ribs of Beef had a... is it a makeover when is a pub? Now the tables feel like table and not that unique pub table tackiness. Also there's more TV on the walls. And the balcony over the river is bigger. Is pretty cool.
A arrived after parking the car, couple other people from NSFG meets from before arrived, there was much talking. No specific topic. I think it rolled through most current TV shows, and also Shakespeare. Three hours talking, only intermittently made silence.
Mentioned the 'more womens please' and 'treatment of PoC?' and 'alive gay people would be nice' and, you know, usual topics.
Got the 'it's escapism' reply.
... womens would like some escapism too pls.

Need to find more womens to go talk in pub.

... need to find more people. Are having same conversations quite a bit often. Still, also different conversations too.

Next meet the quiz, Wednesday 25th.

Meets after that are going to be 'heavily promoted', use all techniques to spread word, try get many people go there. Will also be both Weds and Thurs evening. I suspect will backfire, people will think 'oh noes can't go both will not go either'. But is meant to be an experiment in who can go when. Shall see.

I know there's no much happen before opening ceremony, but arriving some daylight time be good plan. Must remember set alarm clock. Had planned leave 0830. Now planning waking around then.
