Least favourite celebration

April 1st.
I really, really, don't like April Fools.
My head has enough fool in it already.
The funny always depends on the inherent implausibility of the 'fool' thing and how anyone that wasn't a 'fool' should have known it. But I have looked at this universe and it is a very fool thing, implausible as all get out, so how would anyone know? Plus anything that relies on people believing a human would act that way should notice that actually a human somewhere does act that way, because humans are like that.
So then there's no funny. And more confusion added to the universe.
I can see why other people like it. But I no likes. At all.
Please no Fools around here.

Updating comments

If I run the importer on my LJ again do I (a) get all the comments made since I imported or (b) end up with a completely doubled up DW?

Thursday jobs: let cleaner in, be pleased about cleaning, let cleaner out :-)

Look at housing website and choose which two to apply for this week (even though I'll end up 60th in the queue again). I can apply for two and only two every week.
Last week there were no houses, this week there were 5. Four if I rule out living next to the cinema. And that was a sad thing to rule out. Because, cinema! Supermarket! I'd be living right in between food and films! Whee! ... but also, all the clubs, pubs, and gets in the newspapers crime in Norwich. Is maybe not so much the good place. Maybe.
So then there were 4 houses, all very near college. One of them had electric heaters and no gas :-) I applied for that one. Then the other three I couldn't decide because they're all reasonable. I decided not to apply for the one with the new kitchen because I only want to get the cooker taken away wherever I go anyway. That left two places. I couldn't see much difference and consulted the tarot. For the first place it said basically 'you're ignoring something plenty good! here there is fighting, delay, and eventual woe.' And for the other place it said 'Ace of cups! Win!' So, the tarot thinks it's a no brainer. I apply for that one.
Then I tried the tarot on teh electric heat place. It says 'Tower! Crash smash!' ... I is hoping it means only I not get in there. If I get offered it now I'll be thinking 'Tower! *bzap* Ow!'

Looking at housing would be more exciting if I thought there was the slightest chance of getting a place. It's only been listed 13 and three quarters hours and already I'm 16th in the line. Most people will go in front of me. Why I bother?

I bother because cleaner today commented on state of doors that lead in here. The doors I tried to report but the housing association say isn't their responsibility. And they no tell me how to find who to tell. So there's a door with a shoelace on it to make it open. Which no work very well.

Note to self: Check for shoelaces when checking out places I might go move to.
