I have read more about the aired episodes of Torchwood that I have not watched yet.
And I just deleted it from my recorder box. All gone bye bye done.
... which, given the thing never actually would record it, may be mostly a symbolic gesture, but clearly it was trying to protect me, so I like it still.

I read a thing on AfterElton.com that crystalised my feeling this season has changed genres. It compared the first couple of seasons, which I liked, with the most recent, and said the first couple were about monsters and this one is about humans.

I watch science fiction and fantasy because humans already scare the crap out of me.
I'd rather watch monsters, and see them dealt with by the end of the episode.
If that's just not going to happen, I'm not going to watch.

I went to the pub and had a pint of lemonade and some crisps
and there was lots of talkings. lots.
it was recommendations night, and someone brought a little DVD player, and we watched bits of DVDs and showed each other books and audio adventures and talked about why they were good.
(And I a little got in an argument with Classic Doctor Who guy because I wanted to talk about new recommendation things and he wanted to explain why the new Doctor Who books were Not Good and all this time travel stuff is Not Good and Amy is Not Good and the twists in the books is obvious and dude they're meant for 12 year olds if they're not obvious there's a problem. ANYway. We have that argument! Often! I pointed that out and requested a change of topic. And then he said he liked the most recent Doctor Who books but not all next to each other like that. And then we got a new topic.)
(Which, for an argue that can take a whole evening or indeed a whole internet, is pretty good.)
We saw bits from a silent Cthulu movie some hobby people made, and bits from Night of the Demon, and I brought Woochi the Demon Slayer, so between them that covered quite a range of stuffs.
I showed Tanya Huff books and Kate Griffin and also the GURPS Vorkosigan for a two for one of recommending.
Gaming is next meeting's theme though.
Also I showed some Big Finish audio, which sparked discussion. But since I'd picked two that I hadn't taken from the wrapper and didn't bring the downloads and also can't figure out how to show a good clip from audios that I don't remember in clips, was only discussion.
... and complaining about Highlander.

... I complain a lot about things I love. I own that. I just hope someone nudges me if I keep doing the same complain.

There were more books shown that were not my bring but I don't remember them. I should have took notes.

So there was talking between 8pm and 11pm and now I am in quite a cheerful mood.

:-)

Norwich was like totally quiet though. And the pub wanted to close early due to lack of humans.
Though there was enough to knock me off the pavement on the way back to the car. Rude. I was not rude if I was near enough the edge they knock me off. :-p to them.

Dark and windy and enough rain to make you think it will rain any second now.

Interesting night.
