school dreams

you know that dream where you're going back to school and you wake up already late?
I had that dream. it's only a month early.
but it got worse
I was going back to St Lawrences. and I was going as a teacher.
which meant all the stuff I didn't like about boarding school, the getting up times, the extra responsibilities, the being in charge of people who didn't want to listen, the fire alarms, all that was even worse.
And the buildings were all different, so it wasn't even cosy or familiar.
And of course the staff were all different.
And I was only a student teacher.
And it turned out to be a scam. They wrote down bad things about me and then happened to mention they take paypal. So if I don't want my whole career screwed I could pay them a ton of money. Or, since the kids liked me there already, they could hire me some more... at a rate of pay commensurate with this assessment.

dear subconscious: I know I don't want to be a teacher. I really, really know.
... I think I liked the back to school dreams more when I'm a student.

English literature and 11 year olds... *shudders*
