Did college again
Nov. 18th, 2011 04:25 pmI think today went quite well. ... I hate saying that, it tends to result in discovering the Huge Important Thing I Forgot. But I've had a very busy week so I'll be feeling worried about the HITIF anyway.
Went to college, did lots of studying, people stayed for the workshop for once cause the teacher put it in the middle between the lessons, found lots of useful quote bits, and also got the instructions for the exam and an assurance there won't be any trick questions so we can just plan what we're going to write now and as long as its on a major topic we've already covered we'll be fine. Win.
Also, there was a minor shouty when one student told off another, the girl who talks about boyfriends all lesson every lesson, because apparently use of the word 'cock' in a non rooster context while the rest of us are trying to study Victorian racism is just not on.
I do not understand people who are not there to study. like, deliberately on purpose, turn up and learn things. Yet people spend a whole lot of time not-studying. And today after we got the exam explanation and discovered we could do the exam with only work from block one and block two, which are finished, some people were complaining about having to do block three at all. I'm sitting there all, like, hellooooo, they've already cut the lessons from 3 hours to 90 minutes, now you want to only do two thirds of them? Why do you turn up at all? But I don't ask. Cause presumably they have reasons. And I don't care as long as their reasons, or lack thereof, don't get all over the group work.
I had a thing to write about mimicry and OWS that I was planning on the bus home, but I seem to have crashed. Exhausted now. All the days this week had Stuff in them. My head is full and doing the throw all the cards in the air thing a bit. Random thought bits falling down all splat everywhere.
I suspect I shall sleep very a lot next.
