I dreamed I was working with something kind of like HeroMachine but with a lot more in it, like art by established comic book artists, characters sorted by affiliation and codename instead of just the costume parts, and backgrounds made of locations like Xavier's school or Stark Tower. It was awesome. Plus it was more like Poser or something, 3D characters, they just rendered flat like comics, so you could twirl them around and make them do martial arts and stuff. It was a total DIY comic maker and it looked awesome and I was thinking I just couldn't wait to share with all the people who could use it for fanfic.

Then I woke up.

*sulks*

Then I dreamed I woke up in the Marvel universe with superpowers. In sight of, but not yet introduced to, Tony Stark. Unfortunately the blue eyed comic book version, but still, that was pretty cool.
But then people started staring at me funny and it turned out I'd probably woken up possessing someone else's superpowered body, and I didn't know how to control those powers, so that was totally not going to go well.
And then the tower got attacked by a bunch of people, and I started to complain that if I'd woken up in the DCU I'd have had 30 years of relevant research, but nooooooo, I had to land somewhere I'd picked up a dozen comics from in my life, and most of them were parodies and crossovers. ... I was also accidentally knocking over bad guys with my super strength while waving my arms around complaining, so that was kind of helpful...

After that was something about a box full of sand with magic books buried in it. The sand was lovely dreamy stuff that made pretty pictures in your head, but if you kept touching it you started turning to sand yourself. So you had to find the books fast. And then you could only read them if you painted the pages carefully with water drawn from your own blood. So it really, really helped to know which page you needed to start with. That's some serious security features, that is. I'm tempted to invent a whole story just to use that box. The books were lovely things, deep red to match the laquered box, and the writing showed up in metallic gold, but faded out again fast as it dried like the sands around it. Lovely nearly white sands and book pages nearly the same color. ... come to think it might be a bit of a blood and bone theme, but much more genteel, with the aged pages looking just right.

What sort of spell would be important enough to risk that kind of box?

What sort of spells would be in three separate volumes in that kind of box?
