Been thinking about Tony Stark in Iron Man, and Iron Man 2, and why it seems SHIELD, Fury and Black Widow are maybe aiming at the wrong target when they try and figure him out. Seems to me they're missing two key bits of data, Yinsen and JARVIS. Maybe three, that being the time limit Tony thought he was working to.

But okay, as things stand, it's just as likely Tony was just floundering and didn't have any bot related motives in any of his movies.

... but I kind of like him better if he did.

was going to watch Fantastic Four but the disc is busted
37 minutes of it worked. I think that's all the bits with Chris Evans wandering around with no shirt on. So pretty much the good bits version.

Then I had recorded Cellular. I... sort of tried to watch it? I watched ten minutes, then I put it on FF1, then FF2, then I skipped to the next section a couple times. It had some of the same good bits? Chris Evans playing someone cute and clueless. Richard Burgi was also in it being beat up but I didn't watch enough of it to see if he had any lines, he was just like Other Hostage. Mostly Kim Basinger played a lady science teacher who escaped using Science, a lot, but then the plot wouldn't let her rescue herself. I mean, first she made a lot of broken phone parts be a working phone and contacted the police, but the plot didn't let that work. Then she stabbed a guy in the brachial artery (and stopped to explain she knew this from teaching tenth grade science) and ran outside and stole a car and crashed through a wooden building with it and rescued her son, but the plot didn't let that work. Then she choked a guy unconscious while she, her son, and her husband were being held hostage in a van, and got the keys to unlock them all, but the plot didn't let that work. So in the end she got rescued by cute and clueless. And I know I didn't watch the whole film, but really? That princess rescued her own self. And the stuff with the guy on the other end of the phone was pretty surplus to requirements. Except for the writer said none of it worked. So that was stupid.

Oh, also? It was like one giant ad for cell phones, only the whole thing depended on stuff that might have been both true and unusual about phones in 2004, but in 2013 makes everyone look really kinda stupid. Tech dependent plots date really badly.

Now I will probably watch another film, and hope this one is not-stupid.
Odds are not good.
