Today I did Dealing With Things
Mar. 9th, 2015 04:54 pmI did two phone calls that I felt vaguely foolish about, because they both added up to 'direct debit is working correctly', but I have in the past assumed that and ended up with double bills later on so I think phoning is probably better.
It turns out the council tax bill pays over 10 months not 12, so there's like 2 months extra free or something. I don't know their logic there, but it's cool.
End of March and start of April are I think the next two Rent Free Weeks, which is the housing association's thing for people who pay all tidy on time. The other weeks are Christmas. I guess that adds up to a free month? Buy 11 get 1 free? Huh.
If I remember these things I won't end up phoning places to find out why I have more money than expected.
I found a letter I put aside because I was expecting to move so it would be the next person's thing, but now I am not moving until ... well the looking for things is expected to start in July and then the buying of things to take 3 months, so maybe October? Oh blergh I hadn't thought of it like that before. But anyways, I definitely need to deal with the letter if I'm staying until October. It involves making a choice between 3 options. My choice is always 'keep all things the same' but stupid letter says no can has. So I guess I'll pick the one they've already highlighted is closest to being the same. It's the electric meter and they're changing which hours make the heater work. That'll change the noises the flat makes. Is annoying.
... okay, is very unlikely I'll notice, but still. Stuff and things.
I did the monday jobs, which includes ordering foods for delivery tomorrow. I feel like I ordered a lot and nothing much at once. Food is tricksy. I went through the special offers and ended up with double or in one case quadruple the amounts I'd planned, because the money offs made it look worth it. ... quadruple is because teh soups are on 'buy 4 for' and there's only one soup that I'm sure I can eat. Vegetarian ranges look great, but need less milk. But still, I'll have nice foods and an apple thing to eat, it's all good.
next I'm going to start the dishwasher and washing machine, and then I'll have done a ton of things.
but it feels a lot like doing nothings.
I need to find a thing to do that actually feels done when I do it.
