Today I went looking for bungalows in my rental price range
just in England
wondering where I could afford

found a lovely one, only slightly too expensive
but the location rang a vague bell...
"worst nuclear accident in Great Britain's history"

... granted, in the 50s, and there's nuclear jobs going now, but...

So I wonder sometimes how everyone watches/reads/listens SO MUCH
and I know reading speed varies, like, my driver was shocked (shocked) I could read a whole book in one day
but how does someone watch/listen more than me?

... I recently discovered one person I know does it by watching everything on fast forward
and using multiple monitors


now that's dedication to media consumption.

You know when it has been long enough you kind of forget your own fic?
And you read it like, what's this? What were they thinking? That's a weird choice...



Someone commented to ask why I rated a fic M and I honestly can't recall, so here I am re-reading, and likely I won't know even when I've done that.

It bothers me when headline arguments about mechanisation start out 'robots will replace you all' and end up 'don't worry, you will get new jobs in new industries'

aside from the likely inaccuracy

it's just, like, 'robots will do all the work it takes to sustain daily life and development as you know it... but you'll still have to work 40 hours a week. rejoice!'

at some point the priorities on this sci fi future got all fucked up.
