(no subject)

Today I finished watching Killjoys season 4
because sleep wore off and stayed gone.
I think I would have enjoyed it more without the headache
but it was still good to watch.
It kept being surprising
but it is a bit frustrating the way it's more magic in a scifi wrapper
because the tech level is just all over the place and half the surprises are just like
oh hey they broke another law of physics? okay. okay.
... I care about character sruff, but the worldbuild makes an active lack of sense.

I do care about the characters though, so mission accomplished from their point of view.

will be watching next season.

Dreams of daring courtship

Today's dreams ended with one about a guy who went on three dates with a lady and then set up this epic and oublic formal proposal, to which she was like, blinky, and no? thanks? that was... not... expected?

So he stalked off fuming, and came back with like a statue? All smooth looking? And then it glowed and sagged and turned into Lava Monster! Which was pretty awesome, but also had an fx transition kind of like young woman meets gravity, so inbetween she went all old and then sagged past plausibility and started shooting lava streams around.

Which I feel is an over reaction to a polite no, but once magic is in play over reaction seems to be what you get.

Dreams are light on coherent plot but very atmospheric about setting.

And characters can be fun too.

And I usually want to know whst happens next...
