Very specific accessability needs
Jun. 29th, 2019 06:59 amI am currently trying to think of the magic search words
to find a meeting venue
for people allergic to sunlight.
... yes I saw the Angel reunion pictures and had Ideas.
I know I've been in buildings where I didn't see sunlight all day, but I don't exactly remember which ones. Conventions, obviously. Birmingham maybe? But for vampires it would matter if the reception or food places were all glass, which happens.
Like, I can find a bunch of places promising they're sunny, but finding ones that are not, not so simples.
Also I in my head was having a meeting with Buffy and Spike and Angel, and Buffy was asking for funding for her Slayers, and I just went off on one about civil rights for the undead. Undead yes, unperson no! And clearly she and Spike and Angel should meet Nick Knight and Henry Fitzroy and... how longs has it been since I rewatched Forever Knight? Long long. I should do that. Put it in a queue. ANYway, I don't have an extensive list of vampires who are a productive part of society and don't sparkle, but I hate the idea of monsters with exceptions. People is people is people, get some Star Trek around here, they've got specific dietary needs and a whole lot of prejudice to deal with. Bit tricky to hold down a job whilst legally dead, you know?
So I tangented myself.
But in a vampire no masquerade universe hotels would probably have handy little symbols for which ones are vampire friendly and light sealed.
I mean I was on a tourist website the other day had specific symbols for venues that were haunted, so, I'm sure they'd be helpful like that.
Anyway, that's how my day went, plus reading some on the difference netween runes as hate symbols and runes as perfectly respectable religious symbols (tricky, keywords unclear, look for clearer symbols co occuring)
and then ended up reading a couple articles about tattooists who have like a network to do free cover ups for hate symbols
so that was interesting.
I really need a focus.
Oh, but I did try two new forms of quorn meal, in pots like pot noodles but, like, edible. So that's great. Yaay for food science.
... not sure they're tasty, but edible is such progress.
yaay progress.
