'would never really be sane'
when it seems to mean
'has kind of wanted to die for years since The Bad Thing happened'
with possible bonus 'gets lost in the bad memories'
and it's making me really uncomfortable.
Like 'sane' seems like a judgey word with no useful parts, especially next to 'never'.
