I was just reading one of the Doctor Who tags on Latest Things (awesome feature, finding people just cause they tag).

I ended up on a journal where someone was writing in light grey on white.
I can only assume their screen settings are *very very very* different than mine. Or possibly their computer reads it out loud for them.

There are automatic accessibility checkers online. Some of the most simple just check your colors for you. Having a button after you tweak things to look pleasing to you that prompts you for accessibility checks would bring the issue to the attention of a lot more people. It would also *irritate* a lot more people, so I can see why people wouldn't want that, but I quite like being able to read things without using the zap colours button.

Also, is there a spoiler tag? Like a cut tag, but it would put in the good accessible code that gives screen readers a chance to hop over a spoiler and also makes it highlight-to-read. I always have to google for it because I never store it anywhere I can find it again later.

Would those make it more awesome? Or more annoying?

Hmm, having some sort of prompt for auto accessibility checks when you're customizing a style sounds like a really great idea - and like something that DW would be all over. Would you like to suggest it over at [site community profile] dw_suggestions? (Or would you mind if I post it there, credit you, if you don't want to?)

As for a special spoiler tag - I feel like that was discussed and there was a reason they didn't do it, but I don't remember why. (What you *can* do more effectively now is put spoilers under cuts - since DW has the cut-unfolder that lets you read cuts without reloading the page, unfolding some other cut in the entry can still leave the spoiler-cut hidden. You can even nest cuts now - cut a spoiler that is already under another cut, and the reader can unfold the spoiler part separately. And the cut unfolder is fully accessible, as far as I know. Doesn't work with comments, though.)
