Delay delay delay

College works better if I don't miss the bus.
I was only a quarter hour late for lessons. But that was inauspicious.
Also I didn't technically know I was in the right class. I mean I think I was and the teacher recognised me and I recognised some of the students, but by the time I arrived the teacher was well into the history of Britain between the Renaissance and the eighteenth century, which is apparently necessary context for this class. I think she mentioned the unit name as we went along, but still, that could have been better. Also the doors lock and someone has to let you in, so you can't sneak, you always interrupt. But I did learn that with the new shorter class length my computer can just about make it to the end of the lesson without being plugged in. I was a quarter hour late and it reckoned it had half an hour of juice left, so that should be worky. Probably.
I don't know how long it takes to recharge actually. It hasn't come up.
If I get there in time I can find a seat with a plug.
I now have two hours before my next class.
The first class went 0900-1100, and then we were sent to enrol. There was supposed to be someone coming around with lists to re-enrol us but they had the wrong lists so we all headed off after class. The room was easy to find, one short lift journey straight down.
And then we sat in chairs.
And then the computer was really really useless.
It doesn't have the units we want to enrol on, and even if it did it couldn't, because it's set up all wrong. Like, all the full time students would only have to click one button and say they're students and all their units get filled in, but all the part time students also have just that one button, and actually, we don't do all them units.
So then we sat in chairs some more.
After intervention of tutor, sitting around, someone going two admins up their command chain, and a lot of fiddling with computers, I have been told I am enrolled. They didn't give me a piece of paper to prove it, and surprise surprise, the computer isn't under the impression I'm enrolled. The class I did this morning shows up, in one bit of the computer but not on Blackboard where it would be useful; the class I'm doing this afternoon does not show up at all.
But if they say enrolled you can only take their word for it. Tutor can sort it out again next week if it doesn't take.
So as of 1250 I was finally enrolled. Probably. If it takes.
SO then I had lunch. They don't have burgers out, not any of them. I asked and they said they could make one. So I had vegetarian burger. But I kind of zoned out so I know I ate it but I can't remember what happened to the wrapper. I probably littered. It's a bit offputting that I can't be sure.
Long day is long.
So now I'm in the library unwinding this morning and trying to recharge for the afternoon.
My original plan involved picking up useful books from the library having checked my reading list, but the teacher says the reading list is on Blackboard, and as mentioned, I am not.
So instead I will poke the internet some more. Or possibly sit with my eyes closed while I and my laptop recharge.
