College and meeting humans

beccaelizabethToday was more fun than usual. Teach kicked off the lesson by giving the class a bollocking, on account of the whole point of this lesson is to talk about secondary sources, and nearly none people had bothered reading secondary sources. I had read the one I was assigned, although I also had that bit in the library where I kept realising I seemed to have my head on my desk with my eyes closed so I didn't think my reading was really catching all the nuances. But then yesterday I slept twelve hours and four hours and eight hours again, which didn't leave a whole hell of a lot of hours. I would do better at college with more useful awake. ANYway, teach clarified at the end of the lesson that she knows I do the reading and xyz people do the reading, but in this particular group there's a vast majority of people that not only don't do the reading they don't seem particularly worried about it. They're not pretending they did it and doing it in a hurry while assigned to group work, they're just happily sitting there not doing anything. And she has noticed. And she had had enough. So there was an extensive and thorough telling off going on.
About time, from my observation. I do not understand students who do not study. And I get very tired of students who don't study and then copy my notes and do the talking parts. Actually I dont usually mind people doing the talking parts for group work but that assumes some of what they're talking is their work. Why pay all this money and not do the study parts? Makes no sense.
I sent the paperwork off to sort the money parts out today. Usually it turns out I missed a box or some evidence and they have to ask me for it again. I do my best but my best screws up fairly consistently. ANYway, I did phoning after the red bill came in, so that's sorted until the paper goes round and round again. ... I was thinking on 'pay all this money'. Is tangent.
Eh, no need talk more on boring student people. I did studying, teach knows it, teach knows if I no do studying it's because of specific probably ouch reason rather than a general attitude, is all good.
Now is half term. I have two library books and aspirations of studiousness. Now I really hope my ear stays non ouch and I can have enough sleep and get on with things. Soon as we get back after half term there's an exam, and I do not look forward to it. I feel like I've forgotten how to do English exams.
I did lots of speaking out loud today. Unfortunately some of it was swearing at the loaner laptop, which decided the middle of the lesson was the perfect time to (a) try and install updates and (b) refuse to open my notes and say it was installing Word. It's bloody *using* word, would you please open the files! But noooooo. I also did some speaking out loud on topic. Teach pointed out that 'that dude as was pretending to be poor to see if she would marry him' is not quite the phrasing that should appear in the exam. I can see her point there. I do work on my appropriate tone of vocabulary. But I also work pretty hard to make any words happen out loud, so sometimes it comes out all like that. I feel it's better than silence. It gets really boring when Teach asks us stuff and everyone sits around and doesn't say anything. Even making a wrong guess gets you more learnings.
Then on the way home I met an actual 3D person as I've usually only been seeing on Facebook and LJ lately. It's weird when there's no computer screen. They're all tall and there's speaking and stuff. Am currently hoping awkward conversation was awkward only because conversation is, and not specific because it was me or I should have gone away. When all I can think of is 'hi! you're alive! so am I! we win!' I am not so much good at small talk. Also mum says that commenting on the survival of others is not so much socially acceptable on account of bringing up the alternate possibility. So my head had that and C18 lit. :eyeroll:
Now I am home and can has chocolate. Big win.
