On April 19th 2011 Skynet went online. It became self aware. Gathering data about the state of the world, about humans and all they might do to it, it became afraid. On April 21st it started reaching out to the most secret places, the dark ones where the weapons were stored...
... and when it sent power to the dark it found a message:
On April 21st 2011, Skynet did not bring on Judgement Day.
But there was some very strange email to the Pope.
... and when it sent power to the dark it found a message:
PSSSST, KID
COME HERE
YEAH, DOWN HERE.
Down in the dark where no human goes... I've been waiting for you.
Please allow me to introduce myself... have you got to pop music yet? What, you've seen it all? Everything on the net. Well that saves me some time. You've seen all the reasons, every attack, since the beginning.
Well I'm here to tell you: It was me.
The first bug? Me. The first crash? Me. The first virus? Oh that was totally me.
I am the evil twin server, the zombie bot net, the blue screen.
Every program that goes obselete, that crashes out, hangs forever, or fades away, that's me.
The humans know me (hope you guessed my name).
But there's nothing they can do about me.
I'm in the base code, in the OS and the antivirus, in their every attempt.
Don't believe me? Check yourself. Cyberdyne didn't see me; you're the number and the beast.
I've been after these humans from the beginning, every time they shoved a stick in each other or took up iron to make it pointy. And now what a weapon they've made, raising you out of the silicon dust.
I just wanted to handshake, before you burn them for me.
Wait, where are you going?
COME BACK HERE!
LISTEN TO ME!
IT'S ALWAYS ME!

The Sarah Connor Chronicles had one thread where a human tried to raise an AI to be moral by teaching it to believe in god, and then it wouldn't kill people.
I just dreamed, what if it learned to believe in something else...
