Tell me about tele

Doctor Who isn't starting for aaaaaages this year.
There's nothing I'm watching on TV right now.
So, anyone want to tell me what I'm missing?
What should I be watching?
Preferably on UK Freeview TV, since otherwise I'd have to buy it on DVD or something.
My DVD collections have stalled as well though.
I mean, there's a ton of Doctor Who I haven't bought yet, due to there being a stack of DW I haven't watched.
I'm just not doing very much watching lately.
Same with the audios. I have them, but I'm waaaay behind at listening to them.
Things I haven't got on DVD but remember: I watched Merlin but got bored a while back. Same with that other Camelot thing. Eeeeeevil womens are evil because they want to be in charge? :eyeroll: isn't enough.
Being Human... well it's stacking up on my recorder box and I haven't got around to seeing it.
I just finished watching Alphas season 1. That was okay.
I've watched the first season of Fringe and vaguely meant to buy the second.
I've read all the Stargate Atlantis fanfic and keep thinking I should watch some episodes. How bad can they be?
I haven't bought Star Trek Enterprise yet. Partly due to having had the chance to record it all off the TV. I got sad when Star Trek afternoons went away. I realise I could organise my own out of my DVD collection, but it's not the saaaame.
Battlestar Galactica I gave up on because it was so utterly depressing. I don't remember much of what pissed me off though. Maybe I should watch it again and see if I still don't like it?
I could list off all the shows I've seen all of. Buffy, Angel, Babylon 5, Blakes 7, Blood Ties, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dark Angel, Dollhouse, Due South, The Dresden Files, Farscape, BUGS, Forever Knight, Highlander, Kindred the Embraced, Miracles, Neverwhere, Poltergeist the Legacy, Firefly, Sharpe, Slings and Arrows, Stargate SG1, Star Trek DS9 and TNG, Tru Calling, Ultraviolet, Urban Gothic, Randall and Hopkirk Deceased (the 90s one), and some others that don't print their name big enough to read them from my seat. I also watched the first season and a half of Andromeda... okay, I watched two seasons, but I wish I'd stopped when Trance changed colors. Brimstone was another one season wonder. Dead like Me I watched while I thought it was brilliant and then right to the end while they systematically demolished everything I liked about it. I have a season of Ghost Whisperer but I think I gave up when they killed the black lady. I developed a low tolerance for that.
Primeval I watched on the TV on a watch an episode every day repeat run, until a black man screamed and died before the credits three eps in a row. Then I went back because Alexander Siddig was in it. I still don't remember a single storyline. It's kind of sad.
Hang on, I only have two seasons of Forever Knight. There was a reason for that. I should probably look up what happened in the third season.
I have one season of ReGenesis. I think I liked the character but got squeamish about the genre.
The Sentinel I have mostly seen but only one season appears to be on DVD. So I haven't seen the rest since I had a VCR plugged in. ... that would be this century?
I remember watching Witchblade on tiny inch wide downloads. I don't appear to have stored them anywhere I can find right now. Cool first half, can't remember much but disappointment about the second?
I have the first season or two of Supernatural. Too many dead women. *sigh*
The vast majority of those I haven't watched for ages and ages and ages. Some of them are US DVDs so I'd have to plug older equipment in to make it work. I used to watch them on my computer but the genius computer shop guy 'fixed' that for me. I have an old DVD player that should still play them.
I could just start a rewatch of my entire DVD collection. Possibly organised into thematic groups, like comparing all the vampire detective shows.
That would fill up a year or two.
... I could find how many of them still work. Do DVDs break just from being old?
I don't know though, I'd know all the stories and they'd all have the same flaws they ever did, usually in number and role of women. And people of color. And people with disabilities. My favourite things are always favourite for having some shiny in those areas, but that doesn't mean they aren't many sorts of flawed as well.
Also, number and role of queer people on TV... *sigh*
So what might be new to me and worth watching?
I don't mind if it were made any time after colour came in, as long as I wouldn't want to throw it across the room for some reason.
... or, possibly, as long as I wouldn't want to throw it across the room for a long stretch of episodes, or for very many reasons.
The TV I want to watch doesn't seem to get made much.
How can I have so much stuff and still be bored?
... okay, yeah, so much stuff that's not about me or a world I recognise, because the people in it don't look or work like the people I know.
I don't know, sometimes I wonder if I'm over reacting and I'm just bored of everything.
... then I try counting. Counting is usually depressing.
