One does have to wonder about the parenting there. Both Loki and Thor, doesn't look like they ever had a chance. I mean, think of the start of the Thor movie. Thor was basically a 13 year old brat, and Loki a melancholy and somewhat mean 15 year old teen, say. Since then he had moments of regression, and Thor did all his growing up away from daddy - but how much is daddy's fault if mommy never stands up to him? It's a classic mildly-abusive situation. Well, maybe not mildly. Dad's scary and mom's often too scared to say a word. Or she doesn't know any better. Good relationships, apparently, is not something acceptable on Asgard.
