Abra Kadabra shows up yet somehow it's still all about Savitar.
I think I'd be bored of that even if I didn't know the ending.

Not many thoughts about this
except
if that's the sphere Eo used to power his time machine
how is it still in the wall.

also, if Abra can open a wormhole with it, how was Eo reliant on Flash.

I do know all this is patched by saying the timeship uses tech from multiple universes assembled by a more advanced time traveller, but it's a clumsiness they didn't need to introduce.

Also, to me, the moral issue here had nothing to do with Abra trying to make a deal and everything to do with G trying to extradite him to a country with the death penalty, with no idea on our side of what the legal process there involves, if they even have one. I know the story is American and probably doesn't realise how horrifying that aspect is to, like, almost everywhere else, but, it should be a thing. Private prisons and private extraditions. The ethical implications here suck.

Caitlin and the surgery... if Caitlin being identified as a meta is so catastrophic, what kind of conditions do other metas face? Is it just from Caitlin's previous crimes? Could they not have tried to sort that out?

The thing where team Flash ignores legal consequences finally bites, and it bites Caitlin. That seems like sidestepping the issues.

I continue to hate the portrayal of mental illness
so it will come as no surprise that I loathe the idea she would rather be dead than mentally ill.

Or that her friends would let her.

Writing it like she's being possessed by evil is just one more layer of fail from the comic book side.

They needed more medical and psych help. They didn't get it because drama.

Julian pulling the necklace off against her express wishes is another ethical argument. She was dead though. And comic book logic is frequently fuzzy on the whole staying dead issue, so I suspect if they'd left it on and it ran out of juice from not getting sunlight then she'd have woken up cold anyway. Not the point of Julian's choice, which prioritised her life over her choice, big ethics argument there. He was just being human and doing whatever he could to save her. Mirror mirror. And then consequences.

It seems like a stupid dance to deny Caitlin both responsibility and agency in this. What should be her power is once again a thing that happens to her. I hate that.

HR being gone all episode was ... interesting. Given reactions I've seen on tumblr it worked as a red herring. But if you re run the conversations with him around, emotionally less invested in several respects than the rest of the team, but kind of fixated on doing something right this time... you get a different set of reactions. Except only if anyone takes the time to talk or listen, which, he has not had a great record with lately. He'd probably just get knocked out.

Talk about ethics though, if he did spend a couple days with a lady, which face was he wearing and which identity did he go by? Because that could go poorly.

Cisco and G had a whole plot but I have few thoughts on it. So G has the same background almost everyone else has, lost someone, big angst. Don't see how that enriches the story, but whatever. But maybe Cisco will see her as an actual person and not just a powerset and a pretty face? He's really clumsy at people stuff with her.

I'm not liking several layers of what they're doing.
At the moment I'm looking forwards to the end of the season.
