Pub etiquette 1995

some research on pub social customs makes it sound like nobody goes to the pub to discuss a topic, they are tere to do group bonding via either Argument (men) or Agreement (women).
that's... baffling.
but you know how I was wondering how fandom ended up gender segregated (ish)?
if women go to a pub meet expecting a discussion and get a Ritual Argument where they will always be disagreed with, well, one answer appears.
an answer from 1995, but that makes it more relevant to some fandoms I was thinking of.
I dont know, the whole thing feels like a particularly baffling joke, but it says its research. and baffling joke is generally how i feel about social anyway...
